Step 3: Roles & Approvals

Configure the Default Group, create custom roles, and choose who approves requests.

Roles & Approvals

Skipping down to the People & Access section, you’ll want to start under Custom Roles:If you’re unfamiliar with user roles, review this section of our admin guide first.By default, you’ll see two roles: Admins, and the Default Group (marked Default). Remember that the Default Group’s permissions are what all new non-admin users receive when joining Gumloop.

Editing a Role

Select the Default Group row to adjust its settings.Navigate to the following tabs to adjust permissions.Connectors:
  • Add Connectors: Select the Add Connector button in the upper right to give users access to connect specific tools.
  • Remove Connectors: Click the 3-dot menu on the card of any existing connector to remove access.
Models: Select the models that users in this group can run their agents on. Auto is Gumloop’s model router. When selected as an agent’s model, it will choose the right model for the job out of the user’s available models, based on token optimization and the task at handFeatures: Enable or disable a range of additional Gumloop features for these users. We recommend reviewing the full list on Gumloop. Examples include:
  • Agent Browser: users can allow their agents to use a browser to complete tasks
  • Skill Creation: users can create skills within the organization
  • Gumball Access: users can chat with their personal assistant agent, Gumball, and use everything it manages.
Usage Limits: Determine the credit spend allocated to each user in this group, notifications as users get close to this limit, and more.Users: Add users to this permissions group, and view all existing users that have this role.Settings: Here you’ll find a couple of additional settings, as well as the ability to give this role a description or even delete it. If you create custom roles, this can be a great way to keep them organized or remove retired roles.

Create Custom Roles

Back on the main Custom Roles page, create additional custom roles with the Create Role button, search through existing roles, filter to roles with certain permissions, and more. Once a user has joined your organization, you can add them to non-default groups from here as well.

Approvers

Open the Approvers page under People & Access to decide which administrators should handle which type of requests: feature access, credit limits, etc. If no one is specifically named, any one with permission to grant access can be asked.
