As one of the longest tenured employees at Gumloop, I’ve accumulated a lot of context. A memory of a meeting about a project that’s now defunct. An old Gumloop video in a dusty studio. Why the Wi-Fi password is “we should make this more secure.”

Over time, we accumulate a lot of organizational context in our brains where it just lives. That’s all context our agents don’t have. When you ask them something simple, they have to rely on kind of finding that information every time. It’s slow, it’s inefficient, it’s expensive. The alternative is having skills for everything. That’s why we built Gumloop Brain. So you can give your agents the right context, organizational, team level, or personal, when they need it.

So let’s look at how it works. Now I’m in the sales team here and I want to give my agents access to our sales procedures which live in Google Drive. To add this to this team’s shared knowledge, so any agent can use them, I’m going to add them to this team’s brain.

I’m gonna go ahead and click on Brain, add a new source, select Google Drive and configure it, and then add the sales procedures folder. Now Gumloop is going to sync those files. Syncing will make them easier and faster to access by any agent in this team. It makes it part of those agents’ shared knowledge.

Now that I see it’s synced, let’s go to our existing sales agent which already has access to all of our tools and skills and add in this new team level knowledge, which I can add under knowledge source and then select our sales procedure.

Now if I ask it, “Hey, I just closed this deal with Deakinson Mobile Generators, what’s the next step?” this agent is going to first look through the knowledge source, find that sales procedure quickly, grab the contract, and see what I should do next. In fact, this agent can now execute those steps, not only tell me about them. That’s really the power here.

With knowledge sources, your agents can better understand what they need to do and have the agency to do it, not just search, but do.

Now there are so many ways we’re seeing our customers use Gumloop Brain. Give every agent in your organization your company policies from Confluence. Give your personal agents your tasks from Notion. Give your marketing team agents access to all the campaign briefs from Google Drive. Now with Gumloop Brain, you can go ahead and give your agents the context they need to keep working for you.

Gumloop Brain

Gumloop Brain gives your agents the organizational, team, and personal context they need, pulled from the tools you already use, so they can act instead of just searching.

Every organization runs on knowledge that never made it into a doc, or that lives scattered across a dozen different tools. People pick this up over years. Agents don’t have that head start, so they end up searching for the same answer every time someone asks a simple question. That’s slow, and it doesn’t scale past a handful of one-off skills.

What Brain does

Brain connects your agents to the places your organization already keeps its knowledge, like Google Drive, Confluence, or Notion. You can scope that knowledge at whatever level makes sense: organization-wide, team level, or personal.

Once a source is connected, Gumloop syncs it. Syncing keeps the content fresh and makes it fast for any agent with access to pull from it, instead of hitting the original tool every time.

Setting it up

  1. Open Brain for the team you want to add knowledge to.
  2. Add a new source, like Google Drive, and connect it.
  3. Pick the folder or content you want that team’s agents to have access to.
  4. Gumloop syncs the files into that team’s shared knowledge.
  5. On any agent, add the knowledge source under its knowledge settings so it can start using it.
From knowing to doing

A synced sales procedures folder doesn’t just let an agent describe the next step after a deal closes. It lets the agent find the procedure, pull the contract, and carry out the next step itself. Knowledge sources turn a lookup into an action.

Where this fits

Brain scopes to however your team actually shares knowledge:

  • Company policies from Confluence, available to every agent in the organization.
  • Personal tasks from Notion, available only to your own agents.
  • Campaign briefs from Google Drive, shared across a marketing team.

What to remember

Brain turns the context that used to live in people’s heads, or scattered across your tools, into something agents can pull from directly. Connect a source once, sync it, and any agent with access can use it, whether that’s answering a question or acting on it.
